West End Singing Star

Mark embarked on his professional music career in 1990 after becoming the last ever winner in the final series of TV's Opportunity Knocks. Since then he has notched up a series of massive hit albums and shows, which have earned him a reputation as one of the UK's most successful male vocalists.
However, it was 1999 that saw Mark reach the pinnacle of his achievements so far, by recreating the magical voice and image of the legendary Mario Lanza. With his natural style and uncanny likeness to the great man, Marks tribute to the world finest vocalist of the 20th Century was quite simply staggering and was rightly acclaimed all over the UK.
Mark has played in excess of 400 shows in 'The West End and Beyond' before again starring in 'Magic of the Musicals' in a sell out summer season in Bournemouth alongside Jacqui Scott. He found time to tour the UK as special guest vocalist with the Simon May Orchestra and recorded his first special for BBC Radio 2.
Having previously resisted many approaches to star in major musicals, he was offered the unique chance to star in 'Mario Lanza - The Last Serenade', a major new work created with him in mind. Mario's surviving daughter Ellisa, paid the ultimate accolade by championing the show, which toured again in 2000 to yet more standing ovations. The show is now waiting for the green light to take it to London's West End.
However, Lanza fans need not wait as the new show 'Because You're Mine' includes further celebrations of Mario Lanza's hits and duets. Mark says "it is an honour and a pleasure to perform the great mans songs to appreciative audiences", especially as a tribute to his late grandparents Anna and John McAvoy who introduced Mark at an early age to music.
Meanwhile, Mark continues to develop his ever growing theatre reputation and work tirelessly on 'Because You're Mine' and 'Songs of the Night'. At the same time he is busy collecting for Children in Need, entertaining on Luxury Cruises and working on 'Radio 2's Music Nights'.
