Byron Johnston is a guitarist gaining increasing acclaim for his unique sound and highly original artistic approach to guitar performance.
He is a featured soloist at leading world venues, including The Royal Albert Hall and The Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

His concerts make a departure from traditional guitar recitals, as they encompass famous classical themes alongside stunning displays of flamenco guitarring along with fresh interpretations of well known pop songs especially arranged by Byron for his concerts.

Byron hails from the beautiful countryside of Surrey in England, where he started playing guitar at the age of eight. He later went on to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music – Europe’s leading school for rock and pop musicians, where he was honoured to study under some of the world’s leading guitarists.

In 2007 Byron performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall for The London Guitar Festival coinciding with the UK release of his solo album ‘Oceano’. Later that year he was asked to headline a reunion concert at The Windsor Arts Centre celebrating the Australian finger style guitar player Tommy Emmanuel. As an in demand session guitar player, he has performed at many of the music festivals around the UK and performed at shows in connection with MTV, OXFAM, EMI music group as well as live on BBC TV and Radio.

Byron returned from performances in Venice earlier this year to begin work on his third album which promises to be a passionate, exciting and dynamic collaboration inspired by today’s classical crossover genre.

His music is described as evocative and captivating, with gypsy flamenco guitar technique fused with influences from classical to blues to world music.
